DR. MARK SHERMAN: In terms of bariatric surgery, which is weight loss surgery, our office provides more than just the surgical aspect. We actually strive and have worked very hard to create an all-encompassing program that helps patients from the very beginning throughout their entire weight loss experience.
One of the things that's important is not just the operative procedure that you choose, but knowing that there are the nutrition support, to answer questions before the operation, to help you after the operation.
We have psychology support to help you understand what are some of the eating issues that you may have before the operation, as well as, after the operation, when there's those body changes, and the body image changes, those affect your life and the way people relate to you. And having a psychologist that you're familiar with can actually help you during the time.
We have really an entire all-encompassing staff that can help guide you and make sure that this experience is exactly what you want it to be.
